The market has opened with a sharp loss taking after frail global markets. The BSE Sensex is down 335.92 points or 1.3 percent at 25383.66 and the NSE Nifty is down 106.55 points or 1.4 percent at 7712.05. Around 129 shares have propelled, 692 shares declined, and 24 shares are unaltered.
Hindalco, Vedanta, ONGC, BHEL and SBI are major losers while there is no green stock in the Sensex. The Indian rupee surrendered yesterday's addition.
The rupee has opened lower by 31 paise at 66.72 per dollar on Thursday against earlier day's end of 66.41.
Gold prices in India swung to a markdown to the worldwide benchmark this week surprisingly since mid-July as a weak monsoon hosted interest on the world's second-greatest consumers.
